MBO(Maximo Business Objects) Basics Part 7 - Mbo Attributes (persistent and nonpersistent)

Mbo Attributes (persistent and non-persistent)

Mbo attributes are persistent (columns in DB table) and non-persistent (attributes or fields in the Object)
Mbo attributes are named in general same as table or view column
getString() can be used to get attributes regardless of its type
getString() method returns an empty string (“”) if the attribute value is null (note: to avoid null pointer exception)
Numeric methods are getLong(), getInt(), getDouble()
isNull() method can be used to check the value of attribute, e.g. ci.isNull(“description”)
Consult Database Configuration Application to find out details of the object and its attribute names.
